Black Dragon Serevi 7s Tryout

August 6th will be the tryouts for the Serevi 7s Black Dragon Rugby squad.  After this session the 12 man roster will be selected.  If you have any interest in competing in one of the highest levels of 7s rugby in the nation bring your A-game.  The Serevi 7s tournament will consist of teams from all 5 branches of the US Military as well as teams from: Bermuda, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Olympic Rugby Watch Party

Following the Black Dragon tryout will be an Olympic viewing event at the Irish Rover.  $20 ENTRY gets you all you can drink from 6-7 (includes well, draft beer and wine) Prizes to be awared to best USA themeed costumes$5 Chance to win several local brewery packages. Proceeds to benefit the Denver Harlequins Organization (a registered 501c3 organization). USA Rugby Level 200 Coaching Clinic

Clinic Description
All contact teams require an active Level 200 Coach to be in compliance with USA Rugby.The Level 200 Coach Certification consists of online pre-course work and attendance at an in-person clinic. The course structure helps to blend the “how to coach” theory with the practical implementation of coaching Rugby.

The Level 200 Coach Certification focuses on player welfare and teaching players the technical skills to play safely. The assessment requires coaches to demonstrate effective coaching techniques. These techniques include teaching through games, technical skill development through progressions and collaborative coaching.

What do I have to do to complete this level?

  1. Complete the Level 100: World Rugby Rugby Ready (click here)
  2. Complete the Level 200 online pre-course work (click here)
  3. Attend the 1 day in person Level 200 clinic

Santa Barbara 7s

The Denver Harlequins Rugby team once again made the trip to the world famous beach resort of Santa Barbara for its annual sevens tournament.

After beating Temecula, Kern, the Torpedos, and San Fernando, the Denver Harlequins lost in the semi-finals to Belmont Shore, the 2012 7s National Champions.
