The Quins travel
to the
2005 Western Playoffs
in Fort Worth Texas and come home with a fourth place finish
after beating
the Johnson County Sundogs on Friday and
losing a tight one
against the Dallas Reds on Saturday.

The Quins Finish 8-0 in 2003, Out-Scoring Opponents 314-57
For finishing the 2003 season undefeated,
the Denver Harlequins were awarded
the second straight ERRFU Division II Championship and earned the right to repre
sent the
union in the
Western Playoffs
next spring as the ERRFU #1 seed.
This year's
Sweet Sixteen
had the
Harlequin Olde Girls
with a great performance against a New York side composed of mostly national sid
e players. The men put in a strong effort in their first ever Sweet Sixteen sho
wing against a solid Buffalo side losing by a try late in the game.
Overall the
2002-03 Season
had both the Olde Girls and the men's side going undefeated in their local union
divisions, finishing second in their respective Western Territorial tournaments
and having strong showings in the National Club Championships.
The Denver Harlequins
finish second in this year's
2003 WRFU Men's Club Championships
in Ft Worth Texas. The Quins won their pool by beating the
Albuquerque Aardvarks
and the
Arlington Mavericks RFC. On Sunday, the Quins lost a close match to
Springfield RFC
to finish second overall.
The men will join the
Harlequin Olde Girls
in the
Sweet Sixteen round of the National Playoffs
as the Number 8 seed.
The Harlequins and
the Harlequin Olde Girls combine for two tourement titles and an all Quins
sweep of the
2003 St Valentine's Day
Massacre.
The Harlequin Youth
Skills Clinic was another
sterling success, introducing
rugby to almost ninety participants. Of those
attending, almost 75% were
women reflecting a trend in the growing popularity
of the sport.
By finishing up
2002-03 divisional play undefeated, the Denver Harlequins were awarded
the ERRFU Division II Championship and earned the right to represent the
union in the
Western Playoffs
next spring as the ERRFU #1 seed.
Fueled on
homemade Italian Sausage, the Quins invade New Mexico and beat three division I
teams, including Boulder twice, to win
the High Desert Classic.
Harlequin Fullback,
Kregg Hyer, took honors winning Best Back of the High Desert Classic scoring tries in all five matches including the game and tournament winner in the final minute of the Finals.
