Harlequins vs Albuquerque Aardvarks

Quins victorious over Aardvarks, 27-18
On a hot Spring Sunday in New Mexico, the Denver Harlequins returned the touring
favor to the Albuquerque Aardvarks from the previous Fall. The game promised fierce forward action accompanied by boring back play
and delivered in spades.
Staunch defense from both sides prevented any scoring until 10minutes in, when overwhelming Harlequin defenders drove the Aardvarks
back to their in-goal. As the
ir flyhalf bobbled a ball, flyhalf Dustin Ruehle stripped it off of him and promptly tripped over his own feet, landing in the in-go
al for a try.
Albuquerque answered with penalty kick, and the Quins were back on the attack. After some brilliant rucking and running, the Quins
were presented with a 5meter scrum. As the forwards drove the opposition back, the ball was flung wide to wing
Dan "Dingo" Hyde, who casually strolled from the corner flag toward the goalposts before the opposition asked him to down the ball.
After 2 tries scored by the referee (HOMETOWN), the Quins decided it was time to
seal the match. As Albuquerque attempted to launch into another abortive assault, center Gary Beaudette intercepted the pass, and
raced 60meters (with wing Ed Durica and utility fatboy Gilligan in tight support) to score the try with a wing and fullback close on
his heels.
