Another Summer Sevens Season in the Books

Another successful season of sevens concluded on July 18th with the sport of rugby emerging as the clear winner. The quality of play steadily progressed over the summer and many teams appeared much improved from from the start of the season just six weeks ago.

The ever-critical social aspect of the game also emerged victorious, with after-match socials rotating through the participating teams’ sponsor bars, including Irish Rover Pub, W.T. Shorty’s, Dougherty’s, Chopper’s, and Goldspot Brewing. Much beer was consumed and camaraderie was cultivated. The Quins extend their thanks to all teams, referees, and sponsors that made this season possible.

With the end of the 7’s season, the Quins set their sights on preparations for the fall season, with the first 15’s practice of the season scheduled to begin on July 30.

Summer 7s Starts Thursday, June 6

It’s time for another season of the summer social 7s tournaments hosted by the Quins! This year’s installment of the round robin social 7s season will feature Black Ice, Littleton and a motley side in the women’s division and the Quins, Scalliwags, Water Dogs, Littleton, and Queen City in the men’s division. Two pitches will accommodate concurrent games, guaranteeing plenty of rugby for players and spectators.

Denver Harlequins Vs. Detroit Rugby

The Denver Harlequins will be hosting former Quin Hunter Tran’s club, Detroit Rugby, this Saturday, May 11. Detroit will also be playing Boulder RFC. The matches will be at Cook Park but may need to be relocated to Jacobs Park (Quebec and Mississippi) at the last minute. Festivities will begin around noon.
